We propose to pause here for a sec. and think about the question below

INDEED. WHY IS THAT?
It all comes down to distribution of resources and to the network of corporations, governmental bodies, lobbying and market.

45% of the habitable land that we have (out of 76% of total land surface) is taken by agriculture (marked in green in the chart below)
Out of those 45%, 80% (marked in pink)— is given to animal agriculture = animals, animal feed , and connected businesses.
AND NOW THE MOMENT OF REVEAL....
ANIMAL AGRICULTURE (WHILE TAKING SO MUCH SPACE AND RESOURCES) GIVES US ONLY (!!!) 17 % CALORIES (GlobAL SUPPLY MARKED IN PINK)

THIS MEANS
INSTEAD OF PEOPLE WE ARE BREEDING ANIMALS (THAT SUFFER IMMENSELY) WHILE WE WOULD BE MUCH BETTER GROWING PLANT-BASED PROTEIN FOR PEOPLE (SAVING SPACE, RESOURCES AND NOT CAUSING SUFFERING TO ANIMALS)
This also causes more disparities

But beyond that...
Did you know that
factory farm workers are routinely denied basic needs such as bathroom breaks to the point of being forced to wear diapers while on the line

Did you know that meat workers are already three times more likely to suffer serious injury than the average worker, and pork and beef workers nearly seven times more likely to suffer repetitive strain injuries

Did you know that many workers in animal agriculture industry are migrants—marginalized, undocumented and deprived of health insurance.
In many countries, slavery and child labor has been linked to animal agriculture industry.
Did you know that factory farm are also major pollutants of local environments.

Did you know that the health of people living in close proximity to factory farms suffers from numerous health conditions due to exposure to pollution caused by animal agriculture
