STRANGE
SKIES.
TARA SAKHI, 10 August 2020
1/5
A series of analog photographs taken 6 days after Beirut's devastating blast of August 4th. Feeling like she needed to archive the frightening sceneries of the port on one hand and on another hand feeling like the act of taking a photo would be too perversed, Tara documents Beirut's destroyed port and cityspace and later alters them by developing the films with expired chemicals. The images somewhat translate the strangeness and ambiguity of the situation and emphasize on the polluted air of Beirut during the week of the chemical explosion.
