First installation in the series called Synesthesia. [V]. This low budget installation features twenty, 8 foot tubed lights + fog machine sequenced to an audio composition via DMX LED driver, Max/MSP (communication and customized system), and Ableton (interface). This only the first in a series of installations (basically a prototype of a larger project I will do). Music: Macro/Micro

Through the use of various found materials, food products and the body, both of the artist and animals consumed in the meat industry, Mangu provides a performative and interactive experience. It highlights the food systems that influenced the lives of slaves, the ways in which they created new cuisines as well as the way processed foods have played a role in modern food environments.

The show will focus on the consumption of goods in American culture and the subversive effects these products have on our lives; consequently, the products we buy have come to define who we are as individuals in today’s society. From sharing posts across social media platforms to being targeted for certain products depending on who and what we follow, users are continually fed new products and services to spend their hard earned dollar.

Your Neighbor’s Dog is a pop-up exhibition presented by Studio106 and is curated by Frances Cocksedge that aims to acknowledge the little things that power our existences day to day, to turn the routine into the daydream, the mundane into the fantastical, the ordinary into the extraordinary. Its about the fleeting moments we won’t remember but probably should.

“From the catacombs of Paris and the mole people of New York City to the administrative metropolis beneath Disneyland, the underground holds a formidable place in our collective imagination. Peter Christensen Valli’s new show at Studio 106 entitled Inside Worlds, offers up a series of photographs that leads us into another of these mysterious worlds ‘inside’ our everyday existence but just outside our view.”
